Bees produce honey from the nectar of blooming plants, but the nectar produced by one flower will be different than that of another flower. This selection seeks out distinctive California flora which produce honeys that have the qualities in aroma, taste, texture and color reflective of their particular species of flower.

Branches honey

All of the Branches honeys are gathered directly from the hives and bottled unpasteurized, thus maintaining the multitude of health benefits associated with honey that are often lost in traditional commercial honey from overheating to eliminate crystallization.

Pastoral Flower Honey- 17oz

Alfalfa is considered the 'Queen of forages' and Sweet Clover is not far behind. They provide much of the cover crop and the bulk of the pasture in California for dairy cows and other livestock. They also are considered 'soil builders' and a source of open space for wildlife habitat. Most importantly for us, they provide small purple flowers from the alfalfa and white and yellow blossoms on the sweet clover that attract the miraculous honeybee to gather its nectar in the spring and summer months.  Richly amber in color and beautifully balanced without any cloying qualities in the mouth feel. Really clean flavors with hints of cinnamon, vanilla, sweet spices and a touch of light maple. Frankly, it is just delicious!

Citrus Blossom Honey - 17oz
Gathered from California’s Central Valley where citrus trees grow in abundance, this spring’s crop is the best in years. Perfect weather with lots of rain and cool conditions produced an elixir that is pale in color with an aroma of an orange tree in bloom. Its taste is sweet and seductive and will bring back memories of our youth where we sucked out the nectar of blooming flowers making our mouths water!

Range Wildflower Honey - 17oz
Light amber with an almost “creamy” texture, this honey gathered from distinct flora of the California Sierra foothills has pleasant herbal and grassy overtones with a tangy finish. It is “brambly” in flavor from the multitude of flora available: wild berries, sweet clover, star thistle and more!
