2017 Sangiovese, E.J. Church
Peter's Vineyard, Napa Valley
18 months in 100% neutral French oak
“With a gorgeous ruby red color, this wine sings with notes of dried tart cherries, sweet roses, cranberry, and a hint of cinnamon stick. The beautiful mountain fruit is finely balanced with refreshing acidity on the palate and a lingering cocoa nib finish.” – Justin Carr
Abundant rainfall and a mild spring resulted in an extended flowering period and vigorous vines. Warming temperatures in August resulted in harvest beginning early for white varietals, but cool weather followed, allowing sugar levels to balance and extend the season allowing for a beautiful crop.
