2016 Pinot Noir, Pinole
Anderson Valley Estate
“Dense nose of black cherry, violet and rose petal. Abundant red fruit fills the palate with richness, along with a vivid acidity, and fine yet firm tannins. It is superb in complexity and scope. It has a clear Anderson Valley minerality, with a long, aromatic finish. Enjoy now after gentle decanting or age for years to come.” -Stéphane Vivier
Our Pinole Pinot Noir is planted on a very well-drained dark loam soil of the same name found on our Anderson Valley Estate, located in the west, or “deep end” of the Anderson Valley in Mendocino County. The Navarro River forms the southeast border to the property, and the Pacific Ocean is in close proximity, bringing cool sea breezes and a marine layer blanketing the vineyards, creating the ideal terroir for our estate-grown Burgundian varieties. Pinot Noir grown in Pinole loam tend to be lighter in style, with more mineral, floral and fruity notes.
