We have replanted the southwest-facing vineyards which E.J. Church established in the 1870’s. These mountain grown grapes, planted at 1300 feet elevation, develop deep fruit flavors and ripe tannins which are handcrafted into an balanced wine. Quite approachable now, this wine will continue to improve with 5 years or more of age.
Our stately E.J. Church Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon derives its depth from diverse mountain terroir representing the finest expression of our Mayacamas Estate. Balanced acidity and moderate alcohol allow for this wine to be a perfect food pairing. A juicy palate reveals complex layers of black fruits, licorice followed by mineral traces of pencil lead and slate. With a deep garnet hue and youthful acidity backed by brambly, supple tannins creating a long and balanced finish. — Ashley Heisey
